Do we need a passport?
Yes and no. If you plan to be legally marry or be a witness to a legal wedding while you are in Mexico, yes, you will need a passport. But, if you are coming to be spiritually married or are going as a guest, then you will only need a photo ID and your original birth certificate (with raised seal).
Can we choose where we have the ceremony and the reception?
Of course! We are not associated with a resort or any other establishment. We have our favorite spots we can recommend to you, but we allow you to make the final decisions.
What if we will be bringing the minister?
You can bring anything you wish. The minister is included in the Basic package, but if you bring your own minister we would be happy to lower the price to compensate for the minister cost. We are very flexible.
What types of flowers are typical for that area?
We do many bouquets with roses, daisies, astromelias, tropical lilies and calla lilies. Easy to find colors are white, pink, yellow, orange, coral, and red. Calla Lilies are hard to find in anything other than white but we can special order them. There are some other tropical blooming plants that could yield some beautiful bouquets as well. We want your bouquet to be exactly what you want, so we encourage you to send us a picture of ‘your’ bouquet and we will match it as closely as possible.

History of Isla Mujeres, México
Isla Mujeres (Island of Women) got its name in 1517, from Spanish explorer Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba, who discovered a sparsely populated island with mysterious stone statuettes of semi-clothed women. These idols were of the Mayan goddess of fertility Ixchel and her daughters and daughter-in-law Ixbeliax, Ixhunie and Ixhunieta. During the postclassical period (650 ad) Mayan people would travel to Isla Mujeres to worship Ixchel and offer her gifts hoping for healthy crops, land, animals and safe childbirth. It is said that the island still possesses Ixchel's positive energy and mystical power. Isla Mujeres does not only have a rich history, but is also one of the best destinations for deep-sea fishing and scuba diving due to the natural reef, rich sea life and crystal waters. With Cancun and it's many attractions just a ferry ride away coupled with quiet sandy beaches and the authentic Mexican feel, Isla Mujeres is the perfect destination for you and all your guests. |
